Cedar Point is Open for 2011 with Exciting New Additons

Cedar Point, voted the #1 Amusement Park in the world 11 years running ~ has added some new family fun this year.  Most of you are thinking "rides" ~ and there's that too ~ but I'm talkin' food first.  Pink's, a Hollywood hot spot and fave for more than half a century, decided to add their first restaurant east of Las Vegas in Ohio! In Sandusky!  In Cedar Point!  I love it! You can read more about it in detail here or visit CP's website to get the inside scoop but Pink's will definitely be one of our first stops when we get inside the park.  The "Hotdogs to the Stars" will surely please my munchkins.  And the Coleslaw Dogs are on our must-have list!
Here it is a week into the season and Ohio's weather has been pretty yucky- only a few sunny days so far.  Hopefully the wet and wild weather will pass soon.
The newest ride, Windseeker, will be opening soon.  With seats 30 stories above the Lake and views that are sure to be amazing (and right next door to where I used to work- Oceana-) the most recent addition to thrill rides at the park requires riders to be at least 52 inches tall and that's ok by me. I don't think this is a ride for the little ones.  Or anyone with a fear of heights.

Ocean Motion, which used to sit where Windseeker does now, is up and running at the front of the park, where Demon Drop used to reside (RIP Demon Drop)- and just steps from Pink's.

There's so much to see at Cedar Point- one of the most family friendly destinations in the U.S. We're extremely lucky to live so close.  Even if you live across the country, try to visit the park at least once, you'll be amazed.  Explore the park's website for current happenings (there's always something fun going on) and accommodations. I recommend staying at the beautiful, historic Hotel Breaker's, which is right on the Lake and steps from the entrance to the park.
